The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), established on April 4, 1947, is one of the specialized organizations affiliated to the United Nations and an intergovernmental international aviation organization. It is headquartered in Montreal, Canada and has more than 150 member countries. Its main purpose is to establish international shipping services on the basis of equal opportunities and to conduct them in a safe and orderly manner and to conduct them in a sound and economical manner.
